Torn between two systems...

I'm an avid gamer and I have been patiently waiting to join the next-gen fray soon, but I can't make the decision just yet, I'm waiting to see if any other Playstation ''exclusives'' no longer get the ''exclusive'' treatment *cough MGS4 cough* I mean Devil May Cry is going multiplatform and Assassin's Creed which was first thought to be exclusive is not. Right now I'm really thinking that a 360 would be the way to go, if only my Sony fanboyishness would let me leave one of my favorite franchises in gaming (Metal Gear) so I'm actually hoping it goes multiplatform just so I can experience the xBox way of life, you guys still have exclusives that stay exclusive (such as Fable and Halo)...I suppose E3 might just be the answer to my problem but I'm seriously hoping for MGS on xBox so I can afford some games with my new console. I suppose I'm just posting this here to see what everyone else thinks about my predicament, I'm sure people will tell me not to purchase a system based on one game that isn't even out yet when the 360 already has a crapload of games that I want to play right now and the PS3 has...ummm...hmmm...Resistance is the only one I can think of that's out now for only the PS3 that looks good, but then again you guys have Gears so I dunno, I geuss I'll just wait and see. I thought it'd be better to post here because I risk causing a riot on the Sony forums I think you guys (and gals) are helpful on this side of the forum pages. Torn between two systems...
if u posted this in system wars... then u will get alot responseTorn between two systems...
id say for now get a 360..it has soo many games! later on when the price for the ps3 comes down you could get one..mabey sell some 360 games or the whole 360 if you really want just a ps3(probably not). but seriously for me..its the games that sold me on the 360. i still think the ps3 has very few good games coming out. they are just hyped. i hope ive helped. BTW i used to have only a ps2 and i compared how the ps2 and original xbox were against eachother and wished i had a xbox.

thats my plan too because i realized it would be a while for some good games...
I got the 360 for the games, but the reliability...actually complete lack thereof...has definitely caused some buyer's remorse. If you go for the 360, get the extended warranty and be ready for a lot of downtime/freezing (couldn't get past 13% of sain'ts row)/scratched discs(even on my 4 month-old console...they fixed that? no). I don't know how things are going on the Sony side this gen, but be weary of the 360 it's a POS, albeit one with good games.
IMO, I would get an XBOX360 Why: More games, Most of the ps3 games are on 360, Xbox live, Really nice controller. Not that the ps3 controller is not good but its just another dule shock 2 with diff triggers on the back. But I would not rule out the ps3 I think in time it will get better games and be worth the buy. And just to say I own a Wii and an Xbox 360.
Obviously if you are truly an avid gamer then at some point you will want both systems - as they are both amazing.  Here's the fact though - hands down the 360 has better games and looks to have a better lineup in 2008 as well.  So for sure I would say get the 360 now and then start saving for the PS3 - get that in 6 months or a year, besides they may have a price drop by then and at least a handful of good exclusives.  The 360 just has WAY more exclusives and better ones at that coming out in the next 6 months to a year.
I have a 360, but not a PS3, so I can only speak from what I know. The Xbox has excellent games, and I personally think it won't be long until ''exclusivity'' is a thing of the past, whether it is this gen or next we'll find out. The aforementioned hardware problems do exist, and don't think it won't happen to you. I've been effected by it. I had my system for more than a year without a hiccup and then one day out of the blue.... three red lights. On the bright side of things, the process of sending in your system to be fixed is relatively painless (aside from the waiting -- Tom Petty was right, it's the hardest part). Xbox Live is simply amazing. All in all, it is a great system, and at this point is the cheaper way to go next-gen, and you really won't be sacrificing anything in ''settling'' for a 360.
Since when did you have to send your console's to MS if their broke under warrenty? Ain't it drive to your EB game's (or Whever you bought it from) and show proff of purchase then get a new one and your out of there. Although i don't have a 360 so i really wouldn't know :\
buy an elite. get a ps3 next year.

Im an xbox fan so obviously im gonna say go with the 360.For some reason i have a sneaky suscpicion that u already own one though.
