AAA ONLY Buyer

Am I the only one in here who buys games rated 9.0 or higher?I bought a 360 last November and since then I have bought GEoW, Oblivion, RS: Vegas and now recently I bought Forza 2. Now this is the 1st time I bought a Microsoft console so I don't know what to expect because last generation I purchased a PS2. I really like the 360 but in my opinion there is lack of high quality games on the system. Example the PS2 had some truly great games one year into it's release like GTA III, MGS2, Final Fantasy, Jak and Daxter, Grand Turismo 3 andf such. All those games were exclusive to the PS2 at the time however only GEoW and Forza 2 are 360 only. Oblivion, RS: Vegas and GRAW are all multiplatform games. Sorry but I don't buy average games like Crackdown, Lost planet and such. Also I don't really make my decisions entirely on what score game gets from reviewer but most often the really AAA reviews are the best ones to purchase especially since now games cost 60 bucks. My policy is rent and then buy.Anyway I'm not trying to start a system war but I just feel I paid too much for only 2 AAA exclusive in 18 months.I know fanboys will bring up Halo 3 so ok now 3 AAA exclusive in 2 years. Grand Theft IV is multiplatform so it doesn't count. Also I don't know what to expect from games like Mass Effect, Too Human and Bioshock so I will hold judgement on them.I just want some serious discussion without fanboyism on this topic because I feel disappointed when I got more for my money last generation. Again this doesn't have anything to do with the PS3 so don't bring it up.  AAA ONLY Buyer
I was until Shadowrun since the comments on here were so positive.  I'm still so glad I bought it. Saying the 360 lacks great games is ridiculous I think though. AAA ONLY Buyer
You are missing out on some absolutely fantastic games if you only buy games 9.0 or higher.

I make up my own mind about games
I don't buy games based on what other people say about them. If you limit your gaming to the the GS staff say is good, then you're missing out.
Stop listening to review sites and learn how to make your own decisions.
your missing out on fantastic games.Listening to rviews:?
So far I've bought Gears of War, Call of Duty 2 %26 3, F.E.A.R, GRAW, and Rainbow Six Vegas since all I really like are FPS.
Only buying games based on reviews is pretty ignorant imo. I buy what I think looks like fun. I love Excite Truck, red Steel, and a ton of others that had poor reviews (Mario Kart 64 got a 6.4). Crackdown and Lost Planet are not average games. TBH, you're not a gamer imo. Can I report a poster for being a sheep? ;)
Did you guys even read what I said? QUOTE: ''Also I don't really make my decisions entirely on what score game gets from reviewer but most often the really AAA reviews are the best ones to purchase especially since now games cost 60 bucks. No I usually check out the games myself ie RENT %26 BUY.However I always check what the average score for a game is on gamerankings.com before I buy.Look all I saying is that is a game is rated 9 or higher by 10 different websites and magazine then most often that game turns out to be good.I don't buy into hype PERIOD.But I make informative decisions and rent all games before I buy.
hey were not saying xbox 360 has alot of great games but look at the competition.... im pretty sure ps3 has.... no exclusives rated a 9.0 or higher on gamespot...

actually all games that i own right now (PD0, GHII, Gears, R6V) except for Dead Rising are AAA on this site... although i didn't pay attention to the reviews when buying the games.  i usually know what game i want to buy before reviews even come out because i normally follow my most anticipated game before release.
AAA only buyers are idiots. a game doesnt have to be AAA to be worth playing.
plus...im pretty sure GRAW is AAA if im not mistaken... that was a great game... and pdzero got a 9.0 on here as well
Saying the 360 lacks great games is ridiculous I think though.
agreed, the 360 has billions  more A, AA, and AAA titles than ps3 or wii.
Reviewers have opinions, and my opinions aren't always the same as theirs. If a game looks decent, I'll buy it. I buy games that score poorly like Shadowrun, and it's a phenomenal game.
You, my friend, are missing out on some of the best games the 360 has to offer. Don't let the media brainwash you, think for yourself! If you only buy AAA games because the ''review sites'' let you buy them, then you are nothing but a mindless sheep.
You're giving exclusivity way too much importance. Not counting multiplatform games towards the AAA title count is pretty stupid imho.
I dont say if its get 9.0 I wont play it. But most of the games I have are rated high, because there good games. I usually buy from companies I like with devolpers that have a history of making games that I enjoyed.  Yea and just bc its multiplatform doesnt mean that its not a AAA title, or even a good/great game.

I loved DQH:Rocket Slime(7.8) and GW: Nightfall (8.2), but I hate GTA, which is a AAA franchise. Also on GS, 8.0-8.9 sometimes means its better for fans of the genre than a AAA game is (Disgaea for example), they just aren't as ''accessible'' (read: easy, GS editors bash things on the basis of ''buh...buh..buh.. its to hard T_T'' way to often - see DMC3 and Kid Icarus reviews).
7-7.9 = Good, 8-8.9 = GREAT, 9.-9.9 = Superb, 10 = Perfect. Obviously a game that's great is probably worth buying. (If you're going by GS's standards.
