Is Dead Rising worth $40?

I don't like Resident Evil very much because I found it more frustrating than fun, but this game looks really fun.I'm looking for a good game during the summer to hold me over til the busy fall so even if I hate RE would I like this game?Is Dead Rising worth $40?
Yes, it is worth $40. You should download the demo on Live to get a taste. It is a really fun game, but I found it to be really hard and frustrating. Is Dead Rising worth $40?
YES! It's a steal actually, love the game and its good fun. Beware though, the save system can be a bit frustrating but other than that great game.

if you're looking for a game that won't frustrate you, this isn't it. Dead Rising has almost the most ridiculously inconvenient save system ever seen in a game and the time setup basically means if you are one minute late to an event you blow the whole story and have to restart from your last save, which is usually about an hour to two hours ago. In fact, it's even possible to save yourself into a position where you don't have enough time to reach the next event and you have to restart the whole game. This happened to me and I sold the game that day. I would say maybe a rental on this one, definitely not something you will enjoy for any length of time.

Well stuff like that wouldn't really bother me too much I don't think. What I didn't like about Resident Evil was the lack of any fun.It was all about horror rather than having a blast killing zombies.
I agree with everyone... real tough... especially at the end with the riflemen guys... too tough... and i hate game that let you a limit of time! i hat it! The same deception that i had with zelda majora's mask....
Is it really that hard of a game? I got the impression it was a fun zombie killing spree with a bad save system, I didn't realize it was so hard of a game.

If you don't, you start over from the beginning. There's a lot of replay value to it, but it's just so frustrating. Running around killing zombies is the best part about the game, but since it is timed you don't really get to enjoy it as much as you'd like. Still, it's worth $40.

you have to know thatt the shooting is horrible! and i say HORRIBLE! thats what making me frustrating when i play the game... cuz when u want to beat it right you have to fught a guy like 10 times and he has a gun so you have to make t=sure to have t=ammunition and all for a bad encouters with horrible shooting plus a bad save system....

Atleast download the demo first. It's really fun, but tough. It's a must own 360 in my opinion though.

You can get it for a lot cheaper if you buy it used.
The more you level up the more the game gets fun and less frustrating. Yes, it's worth $40!

It is not like resident evil, the camera is not close and tight--and the controls work better. Shooting does not work too well until you get some serious hardware like a .50 cal or machinegun, then just mow the undead down! Swords and bats are better--and don't forget the lawnmower.  Killing zombie's in a a red convertable is fun. This game was a blast for me--but I love the campy zombie killing action. And yes, some parts are pretty tough--but I think well worth it.  It is a good game if you like to try to get achievements and will sit and play for longer than 30 min--just find out were the save points are and like another person said--level up before you head out on hard missions. You can level your guy and the experience level does not start over even if your game starts over. And who doesn't like running around in the mall in your underware chainsawing the diabolical zombie horde? For having some good clean zombie killing fun there is no other 360 alternative. (except on xbox live).
I just got this game not too long ago and I think it's worth it. It made me stop playing GeOW for a few weeks. :O The only frustrating thing about the game is aiming the gun.
I'll probably just rent it since I'm not sure how much I'll like it.Thanks for the help.
I didn't find it too hard. yes it has it's frustrating spots, but overall i think it's the best 360 game available. so 40 dollars is definatley worth it.

I didn't find the game too hard or frustrating while doing the main missions but if you want to get all the achievements this willl become one of the hardest games you have have EVER played but it is totally worth it in IMO. Hell it's not worth $40 it's worth paying $60.
