xbox 360 bug fixx
does anybody remember back when the 360 had a bug problem that caused the 3 red lights..well surprisingly my 360 made it this far and i jsut got the 3 red lights.. but the problem is that i got it in the very beginning of february 06, so it might be right before or right after they started putting the new 360s out..does anybody know when they styarted producing the 360s that were fixed? because im seeing that if they will still fix the release 360s for free
is hd-dvd worth it for this use?
first off i would for sure buy either one if format war was over but anywaysI wouldn't probably buy any hd dvds but would use netflix and just rent them and if i want to own a movie buy it on dvd. I do plan on getting a ps3 in the future for blu-ray use and when they get some decent exclusives.So is it worth it considering i could get it lil cheaper on ebay plus if hddvd loses i wouldnt own the movies just the player would be no good, because who knows how long this format war will last. Any thoughts and opinions? is hd-dvd worth it for this use?

Question about buying a 360?
I am going to buy a 360 in about two weeks, and I was planning on getting the elite but nobody has it in stock where I live, so I was wondering if I should get the premium or wait til the elites are in stock? I also have an HDMI compatible tv and I would be able to use the cable for it. Anyways, since I don't already have a 360, Is it best to just get an elite or the premium console? I heard that the Elite is actually cooler and it doesn't heat up as much, but is that true? Plus I have a lot of music and videos that I would store in it, (I filled up my psp 1 gig memory stick in about a week), and I don't know how long the 20 gig harddrive would last me and I don't feel like paying 180 dollars for a 120 gig hdd when I could just get it with the elite for 80 dollars more than the premium. So is the 20 gig hdd hard to fill up and will last me a long time, or would I need to eventually need to buy a new hdd in the next few years? Please give me some advice.Question about buying a 360?

It's failure rate probably is low, but has the same chance as any other newly built 360.The 20GB HDD, which is really 13GB due to reserved storage, would be able to hold more than enough of your music. This is if you even need to store it there since you can stream it from your PC which requires no memory usage on your 360. It will also be able to hold all your needs as long as you don't download to many demos at a time or store too much content. It may work via wireless too, but I am not really sure. So without wireless it should work fine as long as it is under the conditions I described, if not that then I am not sure.

Hi, guys. I hadnt read that much about tv's before I purchased my new toshiba regza 37'' lcd hdtv for 1000 bucks. The picture quality has been really good so far though I dont have any hd channels and ive only been seeing 360 games in 720p and 1080i which look pretty sweet. However, my tv dosent support 1080p. Should I think about returning this tv and going for one with 1080p or go ahead and keep it ? In the store it looked amazing showing 1080i programming and that is what sold it to me. It has a lot of inputs ( 3 hdmi, pc inputs, tons of others). So do you guys think I should just stick with it even though it dosent support 1080p ? The reason I went for it is because of the 1000$ price tag really.New tv.. help

OK so I am trying to get online to play and EVERY time that I get offered a game or invite to play it tells me that there is a roster update and that I must download. So I download and save and of course by that time the other player has left the game. I have one of the pictures of my car (1970 Porsche 914/6) from the game set as my desktop at work and a co-worker came by and asked me about the game and what cars I was using. We talked about tweaking gear ratios, suspenion setups, swapping out engines and other parts. There's also a few other people at work that I didn't know had the game that I talked to. Depends on the game... she's good at Guitar Hero and Zuma. Half decent at some others. She mainly sticks to the RPGs though so it's hard to gauge her skill level.

I got the tenchu z demo today and within 5 seconds the graphics were just blotchy. The sneaking system is poorly done and when you do get caught you have no chance to live. This looks like a launch game for the original xbox. Why cant they make a good tenchu anymore??Wow tenchu z is bad

Yep, they had the demo out awhile back in the Japan market place. It sucked then and it still sucks now. I would've thought they would've enhance the gameplay, graphics, etc. but it's still the same. Also, I didn't even sneak around the town, I just swam in the water and onto the boat, ha. Weak.

Yep, they had the demo out awhile back in the Japan market place. It sucked then and it still sucks now. I would've thought they would've enhance the gameplay, graphics, etc. but it's still the same. Also, I didn't even sneak around the town, I just swam in the water and onto the boat, ha. Weak.

Wow this game is not very all interesting..... waste of my 10 mins for downloading. Funny thing is my dad came in my room and said '' Why are you playing your PlayStation2? '' And i was like no its the Xbox360. MY dad was like Wow the graphics are really bad.. Anyways the game was kind of fun for a bit..... But when i went to the boat i had to fight this guy in a black suite/cape and i Died:( Ill probly get the game whens its around like 40 bucks...Or NOT!

it's kind of sad seeing as how the first tenchu came out of nowhere and was a really good time. it wasn't perfect, but it was a lot of fun. but tenchu hasn't gotten any better, in fact, it's gone down hill, all the way from PSone.
I'm glad I decided not to download the demo. I knew it would be garbage, especially after seeing it played on On the Spot. It just looked abysmal--or close to.

i was hoping that tenchu z would be good because i had a really fun time playing tenchu wrath of heaven on my ps2 especially co-op with a friend. i thought it was a blast..but this tenchu is pretty crappy.

Forza 2 Hard?
I just got Forza 2 a while ago, and I've been doing the practice mode forever now. I then go into an intermediate match in career, and I fail miserably, 10 times in 7th place. This is ridiculous, especially since I'm pretty seasoned at PGR3. It's nothing like it. Any advice you guys?It's starting to frustrate me:) Forza 2 Hard?

i play all natural :D anyway it's all about your spacing and how careful you press the gass and the breaks. and where your car has to be positioned when taking curves. the green line should help you quite a lot.

Add all the tuning options with those little annoyances and of course its nothing like pgr.
make the settings easier for you, turn some assists on if you don't have them, show the braking line, maybe turn the computer difficulty down until you get the hang of it, then slowly turn the assists off and the difficulty the appropriate amount until you get the settings that you like the most
Well since im not sure what your driving techniques are I'm just going to tell you the basics. Make sure you brake before the turn, that means that before you even start turning, your car should be at a low enough speed to complete the turn. You don't want to continue braking into the turn, that will just cause your car to understeer and send you sliding into the grass. Now you coast about half way into the turn and then accellerate out of the turn. Keep in mind however that different cars react differently while turning. Like others have said, set all settings on and learn the optimal brake and gas lines. That way, you can kind of get a feel of the correct way to control a car through a curve.

Also most of the tech sites that have tested them say that their Elites ran cooler than their Premiums during testing due to a number of factors like the CPU, GPU and Motherboard revisons in the Elite which are newer than the Premium or Core.

The elite is actually suppose to run a a little cooler than the premium. If you go on llama.com they actually took apart an elite and it showed that there are no capacitors and less transistors. There were some modifications to the cpu and gpu. They also found that there is some epoxy on both chips to prevent the gpu and cpu from popping out. I think these revisions are significant enough for the elite to run a little bit cooler. I had a premium before my elite and yes I feel that the elite runs cooler than my premium. [/QUOTE] Exactly!!!And it's not just llama either - teamxbox and many other tech sites that broke them down all said the same thing.I can say that my Elite definitely runs cooler and quiter than any of the 4 Premiums I had did. And just to clarify - no not all of those Premiums were defective - only the launch one was - the others I just got offers for that I couldn't refuse. :)

They have attempted to fix the 'warping' problem the chips have when overheating by using fancy glue. They have patched the problem but haven't really fixed it in the 'elites'.make up application

The elite is actually suppose to run a a little cooler than the premium. If you go on llama.com they actually took apart an elite and it showed that there are no capacitors and less transistors. There were some modifications to the cpu and gpu. They also found that there is some epoxy on both chips to prevent the gpu and cpu from popping out. I think these revisions are significant enough for the elite to run a little bit cooler. I had a premium before my elite and yes I feel that the elite runs cooler than my premium. It is actually more quiet too.

[/QUOTE] Exactly!!!And it's not just llama either - teamxbox and many other tech sites that broke them down all said the same thing.I can say that my Elite definitely runs cooler and quiter than any of the 4 Premiums I had did. And just to clarify - no not all of those Premiums were defective - only the launch one was - the others I just got offers for that I couldn't refuse. :)

They have attempted to fix the 'warping' problem the chips have when overheating by using fancy glue. They have patched the problem but haven't really fixed it in the 'elites'.

[/QUOTE] In the Fall of 2007 they will be implementing a new die-cast size of CPU (called 65nm) - this does not cause ANY performance improvements over the current CPU's - what it will do is make the 360 run cooler.

Otherwise they would piss off around 10 million gamers, not a good idea. If you cant wait mate then seriously just get one now, alot of games right now you oughta to pick up and finish before the mighty september to december period where the 360 gets bombared with potential AAA games.

Where it shines is when it comes to custom paint jobs.

Technically they aren't as powerful as others, but they can produce many ''current gen'' (since ''next gen'' is now ''this gen'') effects. How many games flip between 2 and 3d? 1 (Super Paper Mario). Gears gets its hype because of lemmingism imo. Gameplay will always topple graphics. Pretty graphics are a small part of the overall grade of a game, imo. But lets save this discussion for another time and thread. Forza is perdy and has amazing gameplay, so I'm happy.
I agree with ALL the above posts, with the exception of the stinking JAGGIES! Fix the Jaggies, and I won't complain a bit. Even in the demo I understand. I'm not concerned with the lower texture models, etc. Jaggies are a PS2/Xbox 1 issue. Maybe its just worse than other but I have a 42''LG LCD and the car sometimes look just horrible with the jaggies against the horizon. I do love this game though, diehard Gran Turismo fan, but I like the SOOOO many different options that Forza gives in parts and painting.
I wish they would hurry up and release it in australia already...

In my eyes, gameplay comes first and the graphics second.

I love when people say oh yeah gears of wars graphics are the best online and it owns when really the game online was crap. cause if you took away some of the graphics u get a 4v4 no game modes game. RB6V didnt have great graphics online they even looked last gen but the game online probably was one of the funnest games I have ever played.
If every game looked as good and ran as smooth as Forza 2 I would be happy.

if it wasnt for Playstations,SNE`s, and what other consoles that came out around the 90s console gaming would have been dead without their graphics atari games werent that big then because all you see are some colors moving I think graphics should be on par with gameplay but for this game there is no need because the gameplay carries it all the way

I love when people say oh yeah gears of wars graphics are the best online and it owns when really the game online was crap. cause if you took away some of the graphics u get a 4v4 no game modes game. RB6V didnt have great graphics online they even looked last gen but the game online probably was one of the funnest games I have ever played.
If every game looked as good and ran as smooth as Forza 2 I would be happy.

if it wasnt for Playstations,SNE`s, and what other consoles that came out around the 90s console gaming would have been dead without their graphics atari games werent that big then because all you see are some colors moving I think graphics should be on par with gameplay but for this game there is no need because the gameplay carries it all the way

I think the graphics are great. Racing 150 + mph in Nurburgring (spelling) looks beautiful and runs smooth.

Last few weeks my 360 been in not so good shape. Been freezing up alot, and sometimes not being about to get into the dashboard. Seems it might have to do with the harddrive cause some save games aint working. . Lets hope it will be fine cause i aint finish playing forza.

I got this video about how to fix it by wrapping it in towels. I thought, yeah right, ---but what the heck it is not my 360 (sorry bro) and it is toast anyway. We wrapped that thing in towels, left it on for 10 minutes, and wallah! that sucker worked fine. We played Gears of War for about 3 hours, Rainbow Six, and did a slide show with some pics for the family. Can you believe that? Somebody is probably going to post and tell me that the console will now blow up or catch fire or something--but that vodoo towel stuff works.

Hi, guys. I hadnt read that much about tv's before I purchased my new toshiba regza 37'' lcd hdtv for 1000 bucks. The picture quality has been really good so far though I dont have any hd channels and ive only been seeing 360 games in 720p and 1080i which look pretty sweet. However, my tv dosent support 1080p. Should I think about returning this tv and going for one with 1080p or go ahead and keep it ? In the store it looked amazing showing 1080i programming and that is what sold it to me. It has a lot of inputs ( 3 hdmi, pc inputs, tons of others). So do you guys think I should just stick with it even though it dosent support 1080p ? The reason I went for it is because of the 1000$ price tag really.New tv.. help

I have one of the pictures of my car (1970 Porsche 914/6) from the game set as my desktop at work and a co-worker came by and asked me about the game and what cars I was using. If that doesn't interest you, Shadowrun (assuming you have a live gold account) or Forza 2 (if you think you'd enjoy a good racing sim). Good Luck in your purchase

I'll probably rent Bioshock before purchasing. NCAA 2008 comes out in July so that will hold me over until....well next July:D

I played the full game (didn't check out demo) but it just gets old real fast for me.
I love racing games, yet I hate driving simulators... Forza sucks IMO. I love FPS, and Shadowrun rules.

I didn't like the Forza 2 demo at first, but the more I played and the better I got, the more appealing the game would seem. I'm definitely getting it - It has tons of content, great gameplay, very realistic overall and good graphics. Dirt seems very nice as well, but I'm going to pick Forza 2 over that one.
Shadowrun really seemed like a good game, but not worth the money. It's a lot of money to pay for a game that only has a multiplayer portion, and with a lack of maps and such. And, even in the demo, I noticed how it grew old quite fast. I'm going to play it some more though, it seems like a decent game I'd pick up when the price has dropped a bit.

I think people are being too harsh on this game. If you actually play the demo a couple times threw it starts to get kinda fun finding different ways to pull off the stealth kills and finding a new entry points. This could have deffinately been better, but I personally don't think it's as bad as you're saying. It's a lot like Vampire Rain, which sucks at first, but then you get into it just because of how bad it is lol. How can these people like tenchu??

Quite honestly, I thought the demo of Tenchu Z was medicore. It was quite boring, you could only do three sword-slashes, and you could only jump like a regular person, not really like a ninja. I'd much rather wait for Ninja Gaiden, 'cause THAT'S a good Ninja game!

Tenchu is easily the WORST Xbox 360 game I have ever played. Terrible graphics, terrible controls, terrible AI, terrible sound, terrible level design. I will never dirty up my 360 with that trash. I will be very suprised if it gets over a 3.5.

How is this game ? I am starting to play 360 again now that I got 1000 dollar lcd hdtv. How is saints row and should I pick it up since its only 30 bucks and what other games are must haves for me ? I pretty much look for good deals on games on ebay most the time so money aint that big an issue as ill just look for the best deal.@saints row...

I thought Saint's Row was a great game that had some noticeable faults. There are a number of noticeable bugs (I was driving on the highway and it DISAPPEARED) that can detract from the experience, but all in all, a decent game that for $30 would be worth getting. The story is a little... meh, but driving around is cool, and so is the insurance fraud mini-game.

Nope. The only good thing on there now is Ninja Warrior. I think the gaming aspect of TV 4 GAMERS is gone.
I don't watch G4 anymore. Ever since Kevin Perera took over every show, starting with Arena. Maybe his Dad owns G4?

I liked the old G4 the show Icons was awesome now it sucks the only good show on it is Attack of the Show.

I think i have over 20 episodes of mxc on my dvr. it just never gets old.

Xbox live online gaming help?
I just bought a year subscription so I can play online, but I'm having issues accepting or starting games online? I can sent text messages and voice chat but can't seem to play online. I never set up the family settings so I believe that's not the issue. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.Xbox live online gaming help?
